I have been involved in a university project for a non-profit organization in Finland. One of our tasks was to figure out how to get people to consume less. Personally I don’t believe that all consumption is bad and we should just suddenly jump away from a market society, but I do believe that many people have found themselves more than once buying useless shit they don’t need.
So instead of focusing on preaching to people that they should buy less, I took the approach of figuring out how to communicate few of the key factors that would help anyone make better use of their money. One possible solution that our team came up with is a sort of informative comic that can be easily ported into a physical comic book, web, mobile etc.
I have made a mockup version of the comic with crude pictures, but you should be able to get the overall idea from it. Also the key points we think people should consider when thinking of buying something are covered in the mockup.
Now I would need your help! Please read through the comic and let me know what you think. It won’t take more than few minutes, and perhaps you’ll even learn something ;)
Just click on the screen to proceed ahead. If you use the arrows on the bottom to navigate you might miss some of the content.
Cheers, and thanks for your help!
Hei toi oli tosi siisti! Jotain ton tapasta tulee joskus mietittyä, mutta noissa dioissa asia oli paljon paljon pidemmälle vietynä. Otan jollain tapaa ehdottomasti käyttöön :)
(loppua kohden keskittyminen alkoi vähän herpaantua, mikä saattaa tietysti johtua myöhäisestä ajankohdastakin, mutta ehkä pituutta kannattaa miettiä)
